The Kumbh mela is a mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which the Hindus gather to bathe in the sacred holy river. It is considered to be the world’s largest congregation of religious pilgrims with a footfall of 30 million on a single day. Director, Pan Nalin along with his crew members set foot in this mela and found 6 characters whom they tracked over the period of few weeks. Narrating their stories visually which took the form of an unscripted documentary film called Faith Connections.
We were approached to design and brand the film. Our idea was very simple. Faith is something everyone has. It’s either sharp or blurry. This was reflected in the typography of the name… Faith… to whichever end you belong to. We also designed a series of posters and other marketing collaterals which would help them take the film around the world including the premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
